Perceptions is an interactive, durational performance in which two performers move and hold still beside a sign reading, “Write on me what you see.” Their semi-nude bodies become canvases for visitors to mark with perceptions, inviting labels and interpretations through the written word. This piece confronts the ways bodies are unfairly categorized, and reduced to sociocultural markers like identity, gender, status, health, and race. Yet, the body resists fixed definitions, existing in a continual state of transit—always moving, growing, and transforming beyond these imposed narratives.
