Sol Santana is a Brazilian-Swiss non-binary transdisciplinary artist working across performance, installation, embroidery, and writing, engaging with themes of Queer Futurity, Migrant Identities, and World-Building practices. Sol’s work reflects on the current state of the world through personal experiences of migration and queerness. They often incorporate materials from their childhood in northeast Brazil and weave multiple languages into their work.
Sol holds an MA in Performance Making from Goldsmiths University London and a BA in Fine Arts from Zurich University of the Arts. Their work, including performances like Transit, shown across London venues, reimagines resilience and alternative coexistence. Sol has performed and exhibited in Zürich, Lisbon, and London.
